MWA Commemorative 2002 Ornament
Artwork by H. Donald Ross
Third in a series, this year’s commemorative ornament
features the artwork of H. Donald Ross, a self-taught New Jersey
artist who for over 50 years drew and painted a variety of landscapes,
portraits and historic places in Hunterdon County. Taken from
an original pen and ink drawing titled “Changewater Railroad
Bridge,” this black and white image of the 1880 steel trestle
bridge which crossed the Musconetcong River between Hunterdon
and Warren counties, is mounted on a custom-made, white porcelain
disc and has the artist’s signature on the reverse. Each year
the MWA offers a new ornament highlighting a scenic or historic
site on the river.
