For Municipalities
Stormwater Compliance Made Simple
To comply with New Jersey’s Stormwater Management Rules (N.J.A.C. 7:8), municipalities are required to provide annual public education on stormwater issues and earn a total of 12 points through NJDEP-approved activities. While essential, tracking and documenting these requirements can be time-consuming for municipal staff.
The Musconetcong Watershed Association’s Municipal Membership program is designed to make compliance simple. Through this program, MWA helps municipalities secure eligible points and manages the tracking and documentation process on your behalf.
MWA already hosts river cleanups, delivers educational programming, and conducts water quality monitoring throughout the Musconetcong Watershed, which spans four counties and 26 municipalities. In many cases, we are already implementing activities within your municipality that qualify for stormwater education points—meaning your community may be able to meet a significant portion of its annual requirement simply by partnering with us.
New this year, beginning at the Enhanced Membership level, MWA will also offer basic grant writing and administrative assistance for projects that advance clean water and a healthy ecosystem. From proposal development to grant administration support, we can help municipalities build capacity and move priority projects forward.
