For Municipalities

Stormwater Regulation Training

To comply with the Stormwater Management Rules (N.J.A.C. 7:8), every municipality in New Jersey is required to provide public education on stormwater issues to residents. The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) has constructed a list of education programs and activities and assigned a point value to each. A municipality is required to earn a total of 12 points each year. These requirements are time-consuming and not to be taken lightly.

The Musconetcong Watershed Association (MWA) offers a special Municipal Membership program. Listed below are the membership levels. At every level, having a municipal membership guarantees that the MWA will assist in tracking your municipality’s points.

The MWA already hosts clean-up events, educational programs, and monitors water quality all along the Musconetcong River. The Musconetcong Watershed spans 4 counties, including 26 municipalities. There’s a very good chance that we’re already running programs that could earn your municipality points!
