Kevin Murphy

Kevin Murphy is an attorney with 25 years experience licensed in four states and currently Vice President and Counsel with one the largest global property and casualty insurance companies.  His legal expertise includes litigation, employment law, corporate governance, and mergers and acquisitions.  Prior to his current role, Kevin co-owned and managed a litigation boutique law firm in downtown Boston, Massachusetts.  In his legal career, Kevin has litigated and consulted on a variety of land use, real property and regulatory issues.

Kevin’s roots are in the northeastern Connecticut mill town where he grew up.  Nestled in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains, it is a town not dissimilar to Asbury and its surrounds; working class, built on its past of light industry and agriculture.  It was also beautifully picturesque including the surrounding hills, and Naugatuck River which winds through it and once powered its mills and employed its residents.    Kevin is also an avid trail runner, hiker, and skier; pursuits which have taken him to far reaches and lovely wooded corners of New Jersey.  For these reasons, Kevin is proud to be a small part of the preservation and stewardship of places like this through the MWA.

Kevin has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Catholic Charities of Greater Boston and is active in pro bono legal work in New Jersey.  He lives in Westfield with his wife Erica and two children, Julia and Owen.
