20th Annual Run for the River
May 2 - May 9, 2020
MWA takes the health of our supporters, staff and board seriously. COVID-19 or no, we continue to advocate for the health of our precious river, because clean drinking water is essential to our physical health, and communion with the natural environment improves our mental health. We will never stop working to protect the health of our river and the health of our communities.
During this time, we, like most others, are practicing social distancing. But getting out in nature is important, too; maybe now more than ever, so we are moving our 20th Annual Run for the River to a virtual event!
Register online to run, walk, bike, paddle, or even fish to show your support for the River. Set your own goal, whether it’s a 4 mile walk or a 5k run on the treadmill at home; then log your times and see how you compare with others engaging in your favorite activity! The first 125 registrants will get a free medal, and all participants will receive a free, reusable tote bag.
If you've already registered, don't worry! Your registration is being transferred to our new virtual system. Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions.
Virtual Run for the River Instructions
To Run or Walk, just choose if you’re going to participate in the 4-mile or 5k category.
To Bike, Paddle, or Fish, we had to get creative! You must choose a 4-mile or 5k run, but feel free to go as long as you’d like! Use the hashtag #MovingfortheMusky on Facebook and Instagram to compare stories with others supporting the MWA!
After you register, and before May 2-9, you will receive an email letting you know how you can submit your time.
If you do not have a PayPal account, you can still register! Click the "Pay with Debit or Credit" button below the PayPal button on the checkout screen.
We apologize for any confusion. We are working to make this the best of a challenging situation this year. Please reach out by email or give us a call at (908) 537-7060 if you have any questions.
