About the event

Join Teresa Duckworth from the Morris County Division of Mosquito Control for an in-depth look at the intersection of water management and public health. While many associate mosquito control with treatments and surveillance, the Division’s work often begins with the water itself.

In this session, we will explore how the Division identifies and remediates significant river blockages—from fallen timber to debris buildup—specifically when these obstructions create the stagnant water hazards that serve as prime breeding grounds. Beyond "desnagging" and waterway maintenance, Teresa will provide an overview of the Division's comprehensive efforts to protect the county, including biological controls, habitat management, and community outreach.
