Great Waters Hike: Allamuchy Mountain State Park

Join us for an exciting and feature-packed hike at the Deer Park Pond section of Allamuchy Mountain State Park on Saturday, April 8, 2023, followed by an optional gathering at Czig Meister Brewery, located less than 10 minutes away at 106 Valentine St, Hackettstown, NJ 07840.

This 6.5-mile, moderately rated hike will take us through the heart of Allamuchy's oak-hickory forests to the spruce-lined banks of the magnificent Deer Pond, where we’ll marvel at the sweeping vista and break for snacks/lunch. This trail is well maintained with sure footing all the way and gradual changes in elevation.

Weather conditions could make the trail muddy, so be sure to keep your eye on the weather and bring plenty of water, a snack/lunch, and the 10 hiking essentials (https://www.nynjtc.org/content/10-hiking-essentials).

We will meet at 9:30am in the parking area off County Route 517, located here: https://goo.gl/maps/CWEcCNJMMgszETip9 NOTE: Deer Park Road off CR-517 has many potholes, so proceed with caution and bring a vehicle with decent ground clearance if possible.
