Great Waters Hike: Musconetcong Gorge Preserve

Join the Musconetcong Watershed Association and New Jersey Highlands Coalition for an exciting hike at the Musconetcong Gorge Preserve on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 9:30a.m. The Musconetcong Gorge Preserve is managed by Hunterdon County and contains a section of the extensive Highlands Trail.  Our hike is a little under 3.5 miles, but contains multiple steep sections and two stream crossings, making it a more challenging trip.  However, hikers are rewarded by the beauty of Scout Run, a scenic stream that tumbles down rocks through the Gorge before reaching the Musconetcong River.  Our route will also take us past the Warren Glen Dam, the largest remaining dam on the Musconetcong, which is being studied for potential removal by the NJ Department of Environmental Protection.
