Highlands Hike: Allamuchy State Park

Join us for a RESCHEDULED 5.5 mile moderately difficult hike at Allamuchy State Park on August 23. 

This hike, in partnership with the New Jersey Highlands Coalition, starts out on the Sussex Branch Rail Trail along the Ghost Pony Brook, with scenic views of Jefferson Lake before venturing into steeper and more rugged terrain, with historic iron and uranium mines and deep, lush forests of the Highlands. Along the way, hike leaders Ben Yaskulka (Musconetcong Watershed Association) and Dylan Medici (New Jersey Highlands Coalition) will speak about some of the area's interesting features and history, and the importance of water.

This hike begins at 9:00am in Byram, and is expected to take about 4 hours. Specific location details are in the registration confirmation.
