About the event

Join the Musconetcong Watershed Association for our October River Talk, which will take place in person at our River Resource Center, located at 10 Maple Ave., Asbury, NJ 08802. It will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.

Located in northwestern New Jersey, the Musconetcong River is a tributary of the Delaware River. The river is part of a unique freshwater ecosystem that supports diverse aquatic life, including a variety of aquatic plants. Aquatic plants provide essential habitat, oxygenate water, and can contribute to nutrient cycling. Certain aquatic plants can help stabilize riverbanks, reduce erosion, and support fish populations and wildlife. However, there are several invasive aquatic plants that can outcompete native species and become a threat to our freshwater ecosystems. Learn more about aquatic plants are present in the Musconetcong River and how to identify them by attending this presentation.
